  • 1942: The Donald Duck Cartoon “Donald Gets Drafted” is Released
  • 1943: The Animated Documentary “Water, Friend or Enemy” is Released
  • 1947: The rights were granted to use Donald Duck as mascot and insignia of the University of Oregon
  • 1989: Disney-MGM Studios, later renamed Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Pleasure Island open at Walt Disney World Resort

  • 1927: The Alice Comedy “Alice and the Knaughty Knight” is Released
  • 1986: “Portraits of Canada” A CircleVision Film Debuts in Vancouver Canada at Expo 86
  • 2003: “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” Debuts
  • 2006: Disneyland park welcomes the two billionth guest to a Disney park worldwide

  • 1926: The El Capitan Theatre opens in Los Angeles, California
  • 1931: The Mickey Mouse Cartoon “The Moose Hunt” is Released
  • 1991: The Disney Hollywood Pictures Film “One Good Cop” is Released
  • 2012: Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree opens at Disneyland Park

  • 1949: The First Disney True-Life Adventure “Seal Island” is Released

May 5

  • 1987: First Disney Dollars sold at Disneyland. Disney stopped printing them on May 14, 2016
  • 2004: First guests drop by The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure. It closed permanently on January 3, 2017 to make way for the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.

  • 1938: The Mickey Mouse Cartoon Short “Mickey’s Trailer” is released
  • 1940: Move of the Disney Studio to Burbank Completed
  • 1988: Norway opened as the eleventh World Showcase pavilion at Epcot
  • 1991: The Walt Disney Company joins the Dow Jones Industrial Average

  • 1950: The First engine on Carolwood Pacific Railroad (The inspiration for the Disneyland Railroad), was a rideable model train at Walt Disney’s home
  • 1961: “Andrews Raiders, Part one – Secret Mission” airs on Walt Disneys Wonderful World of Color
  • 1988: Disney Animation’s 1955 feature, LADY AND THE TRAMP, made its debut on The Disney Channel
  • 2010: The Animation building in Burbank was re-dedicated as the Roy E. Disney Animation Building
  • 2011: Disneyland hosts the world premiere of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”

  • 1930: The Silly Symphony Cartoon Short “Frolicking Fish” was released
  • 2006: Ashley Brown and Gavin Lee Named as Stars of Broadway Production of “Mary Poppins”
  • 2007: Irish Tenor and Disney Legend Fulton Burley passes away
